Aquatic Plant Inventory

A Report Prepared for the Growler Lake Property Owners’ Association by
Woodlands and Waterways EcoWatch
U-Links Centre for Community Based Research
Authors: Nick Weissflog and Shelby Merante

Introduction

This is a report on an aquatic plant survey commissioned by the Growler Lake Property Owners’ Association (GLPOA) and carried out by the U-Links Centre for Community Based Research. The purpose of the survey was twofold, first it was to survey the aquatic plant community within Growler Lake to establish a baseline inventory and second, it was to find and identify any invasive aquatic plant species that may be present there.

The aquatic plant survey for Growler Lake was completed in August 2025 and included the full length of shoreline of the lake. The survey team completed the survey by boat – the survey duration for Growler Lake was approximately 8 hours over 1 day.
